4) Inspections

As a business, it is a responsibility to inspect and repair defects to your tools and equipment.

TRAVEL SAFETY
Safety equipment: Jack, spares, triangles, first aid kits
 Tow Vehicle: Lights, signals, towing capacity, reliability
Trailer: Lights, suspension, load capacity and suitability
License and registrations: Current, signed
Insurance: Correct documentation
Travel documents: ID, Pasports, Customs, inbound, outbound
Tools: Spares, Parts
Cargo securement (boomers, chains, come-alongs, dunnage)
: All general cargo in excess of 4500Kg (10,000 lbs) GVW will need to have proper cargo securement equipment. Remember you do not want to lose your high dollar investment with low dollar equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment
Safety glasses, gloves, reflective vest for night use

Responsibility
The responsibility of everything that you do as a business and personally belongs to you.

You cannot transfer liability to a 3rd party (insurance notwithstanding).

Accommodations

A great place to start with liability is with your legal counsel. You have probably engaged counsel to assist with the legal set-up of you high dollar business, take another few minutes and ask questions about consequences. You may want to start inspecting your tools and equipment right away!
