Our Free Street Rod Chassis Plans were created by the late Ron Young, a Minnesota hot rodder who built T-Bucket street rods for decades beginning in the mid-1960’s. Along the way, he was the beneficiary of a lot of knowledge (much of it passed along as constructive criticism) by older street rod builders who wanted to help someone with not quite as much experience as they had at that point. In the same vein, Ron put together a set of street rod T-Bucket chassis plans based on the way he had been building them since the late 1990s up to 2012. Just as street rod builder Boyd Coddington built “Boydsters”, the street rod chassis style popularized by Ron Young’s plans is called a “Youngster” street rod chassis.

Ron’s wish was to have these plans freely distributed to help others and we gladly accepted that responsibility. Over 20,000 copies have been downloaded via StreetRodPlans.com and our other Hot Rod LLC sites.

These plans show you how to build a T-Bucket basic chassis that can also be adapted in terms of wheelbase and width to be used with a Model A, old pickup body, or just about any other type of early model street rod you may be building.
